Hello! I’m Fifi and it’s so nice to meet you!

Welcome to my kitchen, where you can coorie into the warmth of Malaysian roots and the misty charm of Glasgow evenings. Join me in cooking a quiet celebration of flavor—dishes shaped by the fragrant spices of Southeast Asia and the cozy rhythms of Scottish life.

Here you’ll find unfussy pots simmering with seasonal ingredients, tucked into simple recipes that make weeknights feel effortless. As a Malaysian cooking abroad, I’m always blending the familiar with the seasonal, finding new ways to bring one-pot ease and homegrown warmth to everyday tables.

My hope is that each story and spoonful brings a taste of home—whether it’s mine or one you’re creating for yourself.

Did I mention that I love baking?

Isn’t baking brilliantly practical? You whip things up for 10 minutes, pop it in the oven, then proceed to watch a gameshow while it cooks. I would say this is my biggest motivation when making cakes, but let’s be honest, that pile of greasy bowls in the kitchen sink ain’t gonna wash itself. You’d quickly forget all that upon witnessing that magical transformation out of the oven. Don’t you feel like a wizard?

Inspiration behind Satay and Scones

My kitchen creativity comes from my South East Asian background and my husband’s Scottish/Japanese heritage. My husbands’ favourite food is wonderfully British but not exactly British, is curry. In his defence, Chicken Tikka Masala was indeed invented in Glasgow!

I love making dishes that:

  • Doesn’t require a lot of cleaning
  • Taste as good as it looks
  • Only need 1 pot to make
  • Healthy and cost-effective
  • Caters to different dietary needs

Also, you won’t find recipes that:

  • I haven’t tested
  • I don’t like
  • Look good but doesn’t taste nice

If that sounds like your kinda food, join in the bandwagon and enjoy exploring!
